Skip laurel Skip and Sandy Borland started building a sauna of their basement as an test. "We had a steam shower in our vintage house that we beloved, so when we designed the basement rest room, we thought, 'Why now not do it right and additionally install a sauna?'" Skip says. Then, when Juliet Schwalbach and Steven Mempa visited the Borlands' finished sauna for the first time, they knew they needed to construct just one themselves. With Mempa's Finnish background, it appeared like a natural are compatible.
